This event is a real life practical trading competition that will help you learn how to trade and give you a chance to meet like-minded students while enjoying light refreshments and food.

UWA SMIF and Argonaut are excited to present the return of the Argonaut Stock Pitch Challenge! This competition involves working in teams of 3-5 students to research, analyse and pitch a publicly traded company to a panel of Argonaut analysts.
Teams will select a stock from a list of mining, industrial and oil and gas companies currently covered by Argonaut (the list of companies will be revealed during the kick-off session). The winning team will receive a cash prize and internship interview with Argonaut’s equity research or investment banking team.
Analysis of the stock should be both qualitative and quantitative and should include a valuation model with a buy, hold or sell recommendation. Teams are recommended to present in PowerPoint format.
SMIF alongside Fiftyone Capital present The Long Short Challenge.
Compete with the chance of winning $1,000 for best performance, $500 for best presentation & analysis, an interview for a Fiftyone Capital Investment Analyst internship, and a position as an Equity Analyst on the SMIF Investment Team!
